Our FAQs
At Root Cause Diagnostics, we believe that understanding your health journey starts with clear information. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about our services, pricing, and how we can help you uncover the root causes of your health challenges.
General Questions
Root Cause Diagnostics is a holistic health service that helps individuals uncover the underlying causes of their health issues through functional health testing and personalized wellness protocols. We take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to help our clients achieve long-term health by addressing the root causes of their symptoms, rather than just masking them.
We begin by understanding your unique health concerns through a detailed intake process. After that, we recommend functional health tests that assess various aspects of your health, such as hormonal imbalances, digestive health, and nutritional deficiencies. Based on the results, we create personalized wellness protocols, including diet, lifestyle changes, supplements, and other recommendations, to help you achieve lasting health improvements. You’ll receive ongoing support from our expert practitioner to ensure you stay on track.
No, you don’t need a referral. You can book a consultation directly with us to get started on your health journey. Our approach is personalized and doesn’t require a referral from a doctor.
Clients can usually submit their invoices or receipts directly to their HSA/FSA administrator, along with a Letter of Medical Necessity from their doctor, to request reimbursement.

Functional Health Testing
- Hormonal Imbalances
- Gut Health (SIBO, Leaky Gut, IBS)
- Thyroid Function
- Food Sensitivities
- Nutritional Deficiencies
- Toxicity and Heavy Metals
- Immune System Health
Test results typically take 2-3 weeks to process once your tests are submitted. After receiving the results, we’ll schedule a follow-up consultation to go over the findings and develop your personalized plan.
Functional health tests are generally not covered by insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance company to determine whether they cover these types of tests.
Personalized Wellness Protocols
- Dietary Recommendations tailored to your unique health needs.
- Supplement Protocols to address deficiencies or imbalances.
- Lifestyle Adjustments, including stress management, sleep optimization, and exercise recommendations.
- Behavioral and Mindful Eating Guidance to promote long-term health changes.
Your progress is tracked through ongoing consultations and regular check-ins with your practitioner. We make adjustments to your protocol as needed based on your feedback and improvements. Additionally, we monitor changes through functional health tests to ensure you’re on the right path.
